What We Stand For
Welcome to Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies' UNICEF Club! UNICEF is the world’s leading organization for children, working in more than 190 countries and territories to help all children realize their full potential.
UNICEF originally stood for the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund when the organization was created to aid those who were still recovering from World War II, but now it works on a worldwide scale and is known as United Nations Children's Fund. Today, UNICEF also provides developmental assistance to women and children in developing countries, essentially representing their human rights.
The U.S. Fund for UNICEF and its partners are building a support for UNICEF and transforming the lives of children everywhere. UNICEF works to protect children and to promote children’s access to health care, clean water, nutrition and education. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF is a registered charity raising funds for UNICEF’s work in child survival and development. It is supported entirely by voluntary donations.
UNICEF’s enormous buying power means that every dollar goes further. By driving down the cost of vaccines, anti-malarial bed nets, and other life-saving goods.
Our Goals
Our school offers grades 4 - 12, giving us the perfect opportunity to have students help other kids in need. As a high school club, we aim for all members to be a role model for younger students to look up to. With the collective hard work from all of our students, we hope to be able to make a positive impact on our community.
As a club, we hope to spread global-awareness and help those in need by organizing events and fundraisers, all of which benefit children, the homeless, and the poverty-stricken.
